BBC secures live TV rights to Wales men’s football matches

The BBC has acquired the rights to broadcast live television coverage of Wales men's international football matches.

Through an agreement with UEFA, the broadcaster will air 13 matches live, starting with Wales' game against Kazakhstan on March 22, including all World Cup qualifiers.

This deal comes as the team gears up for its 2026 World Cup qualification campaign.

Rhuanedd Richards, director of BBC Cymru Wales, expressed excitement over the agreement, stating: "I’m thrilled that we’ve secured this deal to bring Wales’ matches to our screens. With Craig Bellamy leading the Cymru squad into a new campaign, I’m delighted that BBC Cymru Wales will be there every step of the way, delivering international football to fans across the country."

This coverage will complement BBC Wales' existing broadcasts of the women’s international team.

Football Association of Wales CEO Noel Mooney welcomed the partnership, saying:

"As we embark on an exciting World Cup qualification journey under Craig Bellamy’s leadership, we look forward to working with BBC Cymru Wales on their free-to-air coverage of the Cymru Men’s National Team. It’s fantastic that Welsh fans will be able to watch all our matches for free through the BBC’s outstanding coverage."
